Bluefish Fishing Photo and Video
We went on the boat today, but just for some chilling out and I wanted to stop off and see if my bluefish were in their usual haunt. Turned out they were there and as fired up as ever. All were 3 to 5 pounds of fun. We caught 5 and then moved on to Deadman’s Island where we pretty much just kicked back and relaxed. We also shot some video, the links are below or click on the article title to see the whole article.
Fishing Report 5/31/09
Red Snapper season is set to open Monday June 1st. New limits are 2 per person and a minimum of 16 inches in length. Early in the week should provide some 2-3 foot seas and some optimal snapper fishing. Also, snook season closes Monday on the Atlantic coast of Florida.
Kingfish are her in some numbers. We found some nice big blue runners off of NAS Pensacola on Saturday. Check out that area for some good bait on your way out. Make sure to update your fishing license for those offshore trips, USCG and FWC were out in force Saturday pulling several people over.
Surf Report 5/31/09
Pensacola Beach 9:15am: Flat, calm conditions across the panhandle right now. Looks like it will be more toward midweek before any signs of surf. Great beach and beer drinking weather for now. Get out and enjoy it and don’t forget the sunscreen.
Out Fishing Saturday 5/30/09
Sam and I were able to get out on the boat finally yesterday for some fishing and relaxing. We caught a few fish here and there but no real monsters. We fished Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound with some live shrimp. I also spoke with Chris Phillips today at Hot Spots Bait and Tackle in Gulf Breeze. Hopefully we can work out a relationship with them and get some more reports, etc. on the site soon. Daily totals: 15″ flounder, 3 speckled seatrout to 20″, 1 small grouper, 1 legal snapper, and a nice spadefish. Check out all the pictures from the trip by clicking on the article name above:
