Drag Screamin’!
Fished Naval Live Oaks Park again last night in search of redfish or anything that would keep me interested. I got there about 5pm and I was as excited as ever due to the fact that the bait shop finally had some decent sized shrimp and this time I brought my castnet and netted some nice finger mullet. I waded out at my favorite spot I call “UF”, ’cause the gator trout live there. I was hit or hooked up on every cast. The trick today was starting with the live shrimp to get the fish going and then anything you could throw out there was good. Ladyfish and Specks started the show, then a dolphin showed up and that turned off the smaller fish. Ended up with 3 redfish (30″, 25″, and a small rat red), 5 specks to 22″, lots of ladyfish, 1 mangrove snapper, 1 bluefish, 1 hardhead, and a pinfish.
