Fishing Report 8/5/08
August 5, 2008 · Filed Under Reports
Inshore: Mangrove snapper have been hard to avoid lately around any kind of structure inshore. I have also seen some schools of large jacks roaming the seawalls and canals eating up everything in their paths. Juvenile gag grouper are also keeping me on my toes around bridges and jetties. As the surf calms a little on the beach I look forward to getting back out there in search of snook but it has been slow the last couple weeks due to larger than normal waves.
Offshore: Lots of gags and reds in about 110+ feet of water. American Red Snapper Season is closed so no reason to head back out and target them, carefully release any that are accidentally captured!
