Inshore:  Redfish are dominating the inshore reports that I am receiving along with some specks going around 4 pounds.  The bluefish have been pretty fired up around structure.  Try jigging.

Offshore:  Its still snapper land out there.  The kings have been pretty fired up too.  A whale shark was spotted off of Pensacola Pass late last week that brought a bunch of cobia with it, so keep an eye out for those if you head out there.

An okay day on the water, marine weather forecast said “bay and inland waters smooth wind southwest at 10 knots.”  I think they missed something, cause the bay was 2-3 with winds west at 25mph.  I fished in the morning at the pass for kingfish and didn’t have a bite.  I was chased off by a storm at around 9:30am and went to Bob Sikes Bridge where I did find some bluefish to get the skunk off of the boat.  We then did some skurfing.  Here are some pictures.  One is Nick Barnett on the skurfboard.  Then the storm this morning and a green heron.

Lots of fish out there right now.  Going to try to get out after some mangrove snapper around the docks of Santa Rosa Sound later today.  Redfishing was pretty solid last night, I think we could have hooked up with several more if the pinfish were not as thick as they were.  Hoping to get out this weekend for some kingfish fishing.

The summer is flying by too fast.  The Gulf of Mexico is pretty flat today after 3-foot seas offshore yesterday from the cold front that moved through on Friday.  Now is a great time to do some summer time offshore fishing or some night-time shark fishing from the beach.  Good reports of speckled trout and redfish inshore.  Also some kingfish being caught near the U.S.S. Massachusetts and the buoys just outside of Pensacola Pass.
