Lots of fish out there right now.  Going to try to get out after some mangrove snapper around the docks of Santa Rosa Sound later today.  Redfishing was pretty solid last night, I think we could have hooked up with several more if the pinfish were not as thick as they were.  Hoping to get out this weekend for some kingfish fishing.

Big snapper being caught in the bay and nice snook starting to move through the passes and back up into the bays for the winter.  Good numbers of flounder reports also coming in as they begin their migration.  The kingfish are here and accompanied by large spanish mackerel.  Got two keeper snapper on last Friday but a tough bite considering all of the pinfish and jacks around.

Lots of fish out there, I just can’t seem to keep the baits away from the pinfish, small jacks, and ladyfish.  I did manage one small grouper and one snapper other than the above mentioned.  Lots of snook sited at several locations but they were just out of reach.

Went out to see if my new snapper spot I found yesterday was a fluke.  Took Sammy and 5 dozen live shrimp.  We set out about 11:30am and fished until about 4:00pm.  We did very well so I am guessing my new spot is a keeper and now can become, my secret spot #8617a.  :)  All totaled we got about 25 snapper (6 came home), 5 gags, and a few ladyfish, pinfish, and pigfish to keep us honest. Here’s some photos: Sammy with a couple nice dinner snapps!  And then I dunno how that shirt got into the second photo?!?!

Fished some docks last night with very little to offer.  One snapper was caught all night.  Bait shops are out of shrimp so call before you go.  Most shops in the St. Pete area did not get shrimp delivered yesterday and it could be the same today.  Don’t know why, but I imagine the boats were not out due to the moon and the shrimp being scattered.  I was able to net some small pinfish and pigfish, I should have taken them out to the beach.  Onshore winds may stir up the waters some over the next couple of days but by the weekend the snook should be back on fire again.
