Fishing Report 1/02/09
Happy New Year! Haven’t been out fishing yet but this is the time to go get some big sheepshead around Fort Pickens. Reds should be stacked up in good numbers around the Garcon Point area as well as some nice trout and flounder.
Fishing Report 12/15/08
Inshore: Good redfish and trout fishing on the grass flats up in Tampa Bay right now. Also a fairly good flounder bite and one of the best sheepshead bites in recent years. Honey spot is Cockroach Bay in TB right now.
Fishing Report 12/9/08
Great sheepshead and grouper fishing going on inshore right now. They seem to be loaded up on any kind of structure you can find in the bays and canals. Also am getting some good reports of redfish and flounder around jetties and channels.
Fishing Report 12/05/08
Inshore: Tons and tons of gag grouper and seabass. The grouper I have been getting have been 12 to 27 inches. Great grouper fishing that may be a direct result of no red tide this year combined with the net ban in the early ’90’s. Redfish reports are coming in pretty steady, most fish are upper slot to just over slot, maybe 30″. Also sheepshead have been hitting well around any structure.
Fishing Report 11/19/08
After yesterday’s success it’s hard not to go out there again today. Good snook bite right now up in canals and river mouths. Also have seen some good reports for redfish and trout in the bay. Those venturing offshore are finding fish inside of 40-feet which tells me those grouper are moving in as the water cools.
