Breakinlines.com is Moving to Pensacola
BreakinLines.com is moving to Pensacola!! The site has been mostly dedicated to the Tampa Bay Area for the last 6 months plus, but we will be focusing more on the Panhandle Area soon. We plan to be moving on December 20th. However, I will still be providing as much info as possible for the Tampa Bay areas so those of you in that area don’t be discouraged. This should be a great opportunity for the site to grow in a place that real has no sites like it. Please continue to support us in our transition and keep us in your “Favorites.” Thanks for everyone’s support in the past and continue to tell your friends about us!
Fishing Report 9/3/08
The fishing reports have been lacking, sorry for the drop off. The reason, lots of wind and weather. I finally got out for a couple hours yesterday afternoon to scout the snook but it was far too windy. Instead I took refuge under a bridge and had minor success including snapper to 14″, a jack, and a grouper.
Redfish reports have remained steady, lots of upper slot fish being caught in their normal haunts. Try the flats of lower Tampa Bay for best results.
Fishing Report 8/12/08
Inshore: Mangrove Snapper have been fired up over the past couple of months. I even saw a report yesterday on another site of an 18″ monster caught in Tampa Bay. Most the fish I have been seeing are in the 8″-13″ range with an occasional lurker in the shadows that appears bigger. The trout and redfish bite has been pretty solid as well on the flats and then a rumor is floating around the internet of a 54″ snook being caught in the area! We will see if those pictures ever surface!
Species Spotlight III - Atlantic Spadefish
A common fish in Florida Waters that are found around any kind of structure is the Atlantic Spadefish. I have rarely seen any articles or stories about these fish but they are great fighters and average table fare. These fish have always been one of my favorite fish to catch just because they fight hard and are cool looking fish. Commonly found on reefs and around bridges they have always been a tough fish for me to seek out and catch except for areas where they are in schools and eating everything around them.

Who can ID this fish? It was caught in Tampa Bay on a live shrimp under one of the bay bridges…. Post a message underneath if you think you know what it is. There is only 1 rule. Anthony and Carlos can’t comment until 3pm on Wednesday :) Thanks to Ron Smith http://www.pinellasbirds.com/ for submitting the photo.
