Surf Report 10/19/08
Treasure Island 10:00am: Still flat, lots of wind, wrong wind direction! Nothing to report on, watch the tropics but looks like good strong east winds all week.
Surf Report 8/6/08
Upham Beach 9:00am: Surf is still flat but looks like another pick up on the 8th and 9th (Friday/Saturday) with the best chance I think on Saturday. We were out on Treasure Island last noght and it looked like some fun little 1 to 2 foot shore break for all of you skimmers out there. I will give a more accurate forecast tomorrow. Watch the wave models and tropics for this weekend.
Fishing Report 8/2/08
Got out for an early trip yesterday morning in search of dinner. I fished close to the Treasure Island area due to the weather conditions. Tried my new grouper hole in search of a keeper but all it yeilded was a couple of short snapper and a barely legal trout that was released. The night before I considered scouting out a new spot and JACKPOT! My 1st bite was a cooler friendly 13″ mangrove snapper. Next up was a brigade of mean gag grouper with more snapper mixed in. Ended up bring home twin 13″ snappers for dinner. Managed 11 quality fish before 11:30am then raced back to the dock.
Snookin’ Upham Report
Weeded through the mangrove snapper today to find one little beach snook today, pretty small but I will take it. Took a medium live shrimp from Gulf to Bay Bait and Tackle. Thanks to Joey and the staff over there, hopefully we can get them advertising on here soon. Here’s a photo (with editting done) of a snook I caught a couple weeks ago off Treasure Island!
