Fishing Report 9/9/08
Inshore: It has been the most productive mangrove snapper year I have ever seen. Either that or they are just following me around. I am being rewarded with keeper snapper at just about every spot I have fished in the last 4 months. Other than that, snook have been feeding near the passes and tarpon are still hanging around. As we move into October I expect that the Speckled Trout bite will pick up and should be a strong winter if we can survive the next couple months without red tide setting in. Jeff Haas reported seeing some down in Boca Grande. Lets hope it was just a algal bloom from Tropical Storm Fay runoff.

Sorry for the lack of reports. Wind and clouds have kept me off the water. For those who have ventured out there are good redfish and trout bites right now. A lot of the action being reported is on top water baits. Once Tropical Storm Fay goes away maybe we can get back to our normal schedule.
Surf Report 8/23/08
Upham Beach 9:00am: Surf is up, thigh to waist at Upham. Nice sets rolling in thanks to Tropical Storm Fay. Will likely be out there at some point today, look for the orange truck!
Surf Report 8/20/08
Upham Beach 8:00am: Surf is starting to fill in from Tropical Storm Fay. It is small right now but I expect that it will build throughout the day. Keep an eye on it and check it thoughout the day if you can. I will try to post another update around lunch.
Surf Report 8/19/08
Upham Beach 11:15am: Tropical Storm Fay is upon us, no surf yet but the swell is out there. Once the wind clocks back around from the north or west we should start to see some swell pushed our way. We will watch it today and tomorrow and update as things change.
