Fishing Report 9/17/08
Inshore: Finally some calmer winds and seas as we move into late September. Lots of fish at the passes right now. We went out Monday evening for some snook but instead only had sheepshead, flounder, snapper, and trout to deal with (Will post pictures later). The inshore reports that I am hearing are mostly redfish but there are some snook reports on dock lights. As the Gulf of Mexico flattens, I expect the snook to show up in the swash on the beaches.

Inshore: Mangrove Snapper have been fired up over the past couple of months. I even saw a report yesterday on another site of an 18″ monster caught in Tampa Bay. Most the fish I have been seeing are in the 8″-13″ range with an occasional lurker in the shadows that appears bigger. The trout and redfish bite has been pretty solid as well on the flats and then a rumor is floating around the internet of a 54″ snook being caught in the area! We will see if those pictures ever surface!
