Surf Report 2/27/10

Pensacola Beach 8:00am:  Surf is very, very small.  Shin high with a rare knee high set few and far and between.  Looks like the seas will begin to build starting late Sunday into Monday with a good chance of offshore conditions on Tuesday as the wind switches to the north or NNW.  Check out the Surfing-links at the top of the page for buoy info and local wave models/cams.

Pensacola Beach 7:55am:  Surf is still up from Tropical Storm Claudette.  Surf is waist high and still holding strong.  I expect it drops some today but the wave models show more surf the rest of the week.  We got out on Sunday for a short session for some thigh high waves in the afternoon.  Sam surfed some waist to rib high waves before I got out there.

Pensacola Beach 8:30am: Surf is pretty flat again today.  Ankle snappers at best.  No real surf in the forecast right now.  Still keeping an eye on the tropics but nothing as of yet.  Keep watching the wave models.

Pensacola Beach:  Surf is very small today.  Maybe some knee high lines if you wait it out but not very rideable.  Flatness through the weekend unfortunately even though the wave models had suggested otherwise.

Pensacola Beach 8:50am:  Lake of Mexico today.  Flat summer surf conditions but hopefully that will be changing quick as it looks like some good surf for the weekend.  Keep an eye on the wave models as the winds pick up out of the west over the next couple of days.
